Came across an article on the Surfer webpage that mentions that a documentary about Hollywood Surf Films and their influence on our pursuit of the "stoke" and pop-culture in general is currently being made, which is great.

However, only ONE film released by a Hollywood studio successfully captured the true essence of what it's like to live for surf...Big Wednesday. I was glad to read that the makers of the documentary are planning to specifically focus upon this film and its cult like status among surfers today.
Besides, all other surf films are simply a study in either teenage idiocy (Beach Blanket Bingo) or flagrant examples of too much machismo (Point Break) and sex (Blue Crush).
The only other surf film that rates high on my list is North Shore...because it was shot at my first stoke break in Arizona, Big Surf, and it has a TOTALLY AWESOME 80's themed storyline...like RADICAL DUDE!

"No one listens to Turtle." is a line that is frequently uttered between my friends and I. Point Break is a damn fun film. :)
