Surfed the old spot, in the usual crowded conditions, but still had a great time and caught some serious drops that had me moving along the shoulder, carving and crashing into the swiftly moving lip as it quickly dropped the hammer upon those unlucky few who failed to make the section.
Most of the rights that I took ended in this fashion, with the exception of two rides that left me full of stoke and a smile on me face.
No incidents of bad behavior exercised upon, or by me while in the water. However, when I was in the water the crowd had yet to form beyond those standards that I deem unsavory.
As you can see from the pics below, the crowd was in full force by the time I was out of the water, with dangerous results evident (see pic series labeled "Dropping In")…enjoy!
So, here be the "Dropping In" series of pics...below you will see the beginning of the series with the offending party already at the bottom of the wave, headed left on a shaky takeoff. The surfer at the top of the wave is beginning to stand up on his board, while another surfer (the one with the priority...if he makes the section) is already up and headed down the line.
The next pic shows the complete fail of the unsteady surfer, as he becomes engulfed by the closing break. If you look closely, you can see the offending parties board being thrown into the surfer that was beginning to stand up on his board in the previous pic, while the other surfer that had the right of way on this wave fails to make the section.
Having survived the "drop in" and the flying board, the only surfer that remains surges forward
