No. 63

Dawn patrol at the regular spot in some heart-pounding conditions (9’ @ 12 sec), with the high low tide cutting it down a bit…just a bit.

However, as previously reported by your humble blogger within session 62, the conditions seemed contrary to the reality of what turned out to be another frustrating session. The prime culprit of this current predicament is the sand bar.

This spot has a very, very finicky and fragile sand bar that, when its on, fires balls to the walls…just like the right at the ‘Bu. But, it takes a significant bar to create such sights of awe and fun. Because of  lame winter swells, that bar is no more, having been carved away and dumped upon the ever increasing beach. Without its sandy guts, the ride is not so much epic anymore, just pitchier and short.

Despite the poor but crazy conditions, I caught 3 decent rides...with 2 lefts being the better part of going empty.

I was as surprised to see a Suppy out there after my sesh. Took a couple pics of him staring down a nice mouth watery treat, but was shocked to see him not even attempt a drop…if there was anyone out there that had a better chance at catching it...it was him! What a waste of stoke!

Here b the pics:
